Using Process Documentation as a Planning Tool Breaking processes into subprocesses makes the task of time studies much easier. This is especially true if you have a wide variety of products each of which require a different mix of sub-processes. Time studies will be discussed further in the capacity section. By having clear and accurate process information it is much easier to: • Determine the education requirements for the job. (Math - Reading - technical skills) • Specify and evaluate new capital equipment. • Identify potential process bottlenecks. • Determine the division of labor and staffing requirements • Document operator certification.
